Military funeral services were accorded Frank R. Fleming, World War I veteran, Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Fleming, longtime custodian at Bennington Post Office, died suddenly Saturday night at his home at 311 Beech Street.

The funeral was largely attended at Mahar & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Frederick B. Wolf, St. Peter's Episcopal Church rector, officiating.

The pallbearers were: Walter Klinedub, Samuel Rounds, Raymond Harrington, Leo Van Dale, LeRoy Marsden, Earl Hurley, the latter three from the local post office.

VFW Cmdr. Louis Ross and American Legion Cmdr. Edward Rood conducted the military tribute. Color bearers were Hugh Clarke and James Hamilton and the color guards were Richard Hunt and Leo Belanger. The flag was folded by Cmdr. Rood and presented to Mrs. Fleming by Cmdr. Ross.

The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful and there were many memorials to the Heart Fund.

Monday night a group of Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars called at the funeral home to pay respects. Later Monday a large delegation of postal employes from the Bennington post office visited the funeral home.

Entombment was in Park Lawn Chapel. Burial will be in the family lot in that cemetery in the spring.
