"Florence E. Baxter, 90, of Eden Park Nursing Home in Cobleskill, formerly of Route 7, died Thursday at the Community Hospital of Schoharie in Cobleskill after a long illness. Mrs. Baxter was born in Carlisle, Schoharie County and was a lifelong county resident. She lived at the nursing home for nearly three years. Mrs. Baxter was a lifelong member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, WCTU, and a member of the Central Bridge United Methodist Church and its Woman's Guild. Her husband, Lloyd Baxter, whom she married in 1921, died in 1978. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Arlene H Schoonmaker of West Berne; a brother, Theron Montanye of Canajoharie; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Wixom of Wayland and Mrs. Bessie Burke of Binghamton, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Service will be held at 3 this afternoon at the Langan Funeral Home, Central Bridge. Burial will be in Sloansville Valley Cemetery."
