Dr. Nicholas Henderson House III, "Nick" of Jackson, TN, passed away suddenly at his home late Saturday evening.

Nick grew up in Olive Branch, MS, the only son of Nicholas H. House, Jr. and Frances Keeley Norman. He had two older sisters Kathleen Helen Hughes who survives, and Francye Ruth Burling.

Nick graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis in 1966 and from Southwestern at Memphis (Rhodes College) in 1970. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at the University of Alabama in 1978.

In 1966, Nick was the Memphis Junior Bowling Champion. He enjoyed bowling throughout his life, bowling two 300 and 299 game. Later in life, he also enjoyed coaching junior bowlers.

Dr. House worked at several mental health facilities in West Tennessee including Western State Mental Hospital, Carey Counseling Centers, and Pathways.

Nick was an inquisitive, quiet, gentle soul who loved his family and was grateful for his friends.

Nick is preceded in death by his father, Nicholas H. House, Jr. and sister, Francye Ruth Burling.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years; daughterTN; two granddaughters; his mother; his sisterGA; and many nephews, brothers, sisters-in-law, and friends.
