AGE 84 YEARS
Margaret Magoun Rothrauff of Acton, MA, known best as Peggy, died on May 29, 2017 at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA.
She was a daughter of the late Francis Peabody Magoun Jr., and Margaret Boyde Magoun, Peggy was raised there alongside her two older brothers and younger sister.
Peggy attended the Shady Hill School, Beaver Country Day, Colby-Sawyer Jr. College and Katharine Gibbs School.
After college, she worked at Harvard Law School where she met her husband of 46 years, Guido Anthony Rothrauff, Jr. Together, they started their family in Cleveland, OH but soon returned to the Boston area and raised four daughters in Wellesley and Weston MA. With grown children, Peggy returned to work outside the home at the Meadowbrook School in Weston and the Brimmer & May School in Chestnut Hill, MA.
She will be missed deeply by those friends and by her family that survives her: her sister, Jean Farnsworth of Winnetka, IL; her daughters and their spouses: Rebecca and Owen Neville of Boxborough, MA; Amy Rothrauff of Shirley, MA: Margaret Rothrauff and Alex Rapp of San Antonio, TX; Elizabeth Rothrauff and Robert Bock of Berkeley, CA; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Her husband, Guido, predeceased her in 2001.
Services will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Story Chapel.
