Gwendolyn (Gwen) Lee Ray, age 82, of Pounding Mill, VA passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. She was born August 8, 1934 in Panther Creek, WV. She was a member of Cedar Bluff Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardin Benjamin Duty and Mary Lou Stacy Duty; her husband, Hearrel Ray; two brothers, Buford Duty and Jerry Clifton Duty; infant sister, Joann Duty.
Gwen is survived by one son, Larry Harold Ray and wife Lisa of Kenersville, NC; two daughters, Star Hill and husband Billy, Sr. and Charlotte Rose and husband Joseph both of Pounding Mill, VA; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 31 at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
