Services for Rex Kendall Carter, 80, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Christine officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories. Mr. Carter passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at his home. He was born on June 5, 1936 in Canton to Truman and Doris Clever Corley Carter. Rex was a member of the Phalba Full Gospel Church. After growing up in Canton, he lived in Dallas for 30 years. Rex worked for Goodyear for over 30 years. He loved fishing and listening to Bluegrass Music. Rex enjoyed working with the Canton Band Boosters from 1995 to 2000. Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents: Truman and Doris Clever Corley Carter; step-mother, Opal Carter; brother, W.T. Carter; and nephews: Robert and Keith Carter. Rex is survived by his wife, Virginia Nell Carter of Canton; daughter and her husband, Kathy and Emmanuel Myrianthopoulos of Wylie; four grandchildren and their spouses: Joy and Jimmy Smith, Robert and Amanda Paroski, Ashley and Krystal Paroski, and Jessica and Chris Terry; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Morgan of Canton and Sandra Ivey of Frisco; and four brothers: Kenneth and Mary Carter of Ovilla, Devon Carter of Plano, Gary Carter of Paris and Cois and Judi Carter of Grand Saline. Visitation will be 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
