Mrs. Mable M. (Sweet) Loring, 79, of Canajoharie, died Monday at Wilkinson Facility in Amsterdam. Mable was born February 14, 1930, in Canajoharie. She was the daughter of the late Irving and Rose Dingman Surnear. Mrs. Loring was educated in Canajoharie schools and employed as a record inspector for the former MCA, retiring in 1981. Mable was a longtime animal lover and had many pets during her life. She also enjoyed an occasional evening at Fonda Speedway.
Her loving family includes: her husband, Albert Loring of Canajoharie; her children, Leonard Sweet of Johnstown, David Sweet Sr. of Gloversville, Elizabeth (Liz) Sweet of Mayfield and Margaret Young of Gloversville. She is also survived by: sisters, Lina Haley of Texas and Irene Gaines of Nebraska; and a brother, Clarence Hartwick of Herkimer. Additional survivors include thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mable was predeceased by a son, Francis D. Sweet; a sister, Rose Markham; and brothers, Irving, George and Charles Surnear.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium, Schenectady.
