Janette Maude Walker, 96, of Salem, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Richfield nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Walker. Jeanette was the last of ten children born to Alice and William Andrew Harris. Janette celebrated her 96th birthday on November 15, 2017.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Phyllis (Alton) Throckmartin, Connie Beheler, Bobby (Monica) Walker, Brenda Barr and Warren (Joyce) Walker; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and six great, great- grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the funeral home. An interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate and caring staff at Richfield.
