Geneva M. Thomas, 91, Weiser, passed away Thursday, January 11th, with family at her side. Geneva was born October 12, 1926 in Tacoma, Washington to Lawrence and Iola (Weber) Kendall. She was the oldest of five children.

At the age of two her family moved to the Oregon Side, now known as Annex. She lived in Annex all of her growing up years, graduated from Ontario High school and went to work at Montgomery Ward in Weiser. It was here that she met her sweetheart, Harry Raymond Thomas, they were married on September 30, 1945. Geneva became the instant mother of Harry's two young children. They added 11 more children to their family. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS temple, on June 10th 1953. Geneva enjoyed being a mother and loved to cook, sew, journal and write letters. She helped her husband farm, ranch and dairy. She always had a garden to grow fresh produce for their large family. Geneva delivered the Argus Observer for 26 years and loved all of her customers here in Weiser and on the Oregon side. Her children and grandchildren often went on the paper route with her to help out.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and enjoyed serving in many capacities. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father, and her Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith carried her through many trials and struggles. She strived to follow the teachings of the Savior and left a legacy of faith and love. She treated others with kindness and great compassion and was generous with all she had. Her family was the center of her life and she loved hearing about each and every one of them.
