Service for Helen Nelson, 74, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M.,Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Field Street Baptist Church. The Reverend Weldon McKinney will officiate. Pallbearers will be Taylor Ray, Katelyn Ray,
Brandon Fawcett, Adam Fawcett, Peyton Ray, Colin Fawcett and Greg Wilmore.Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. A second service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 5, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in George West, TX followed by a graveside service at 12 Noon at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville, TX.
Helen Nelson passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Ft. Worth. She was born Dec. 10, 1942 in Beeville, TX to Milton and Leona Light Blankenship. She married Wesley Edward Nelson on Dec. 20, 1963 in George West, TX. Mrs. Nelson was an educator for Cleburne ISD for 35 years. She taught Special Education students in grades K-5. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, the Ladies' Cattleman Association in George West and Field Street Baptist Church in Cleburne, TX.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Wesley Nelson of Cleburne; daughters, Kristine Quisenberry and husband David of McKinney and Karen Fawcett and husband Michael of Austin; Six grandchildren, Taylor Ray,Katelyn Ray, Brandon Fawcett, Adam Fawcett, Peyton Ray and Colin Fawcett; brother, Jimmy Blankenship of George West ; and a niece, Tami Hartman and husband Chance of Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carolyn Blankenship.
