Calvin L. Gess, age 80, formerly of Michigan, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at his home in Palmyra. He was born on October 6, 1925, in Temperance, Michigan, the son of Arthur and Clarabel Gess. He is a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, member of the Palmyra American Legion and VFW. He is survived by his wife, Laura Mae (Miller). They were married on November 9, 1943. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arthur Jr. and Olin. Burial at Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra with full military honors. Mealy's Funeral Home in Palmyra.
