Henry "Dutch" Horrighs 74 died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital. He was born Sept 13, 1916, in Shawneetown, the son of Albert and Elizabeth Barnes Horrighs. He married Josephine Marie Laws in 1945 in Springfield. Preceding him in death were one grandson, two brothers, Rocky, and Thomas, and five sisters, Betty Dodd, Alberta Homer, Elizabeth Horrighs, Jackie Mihelsic and Mary Smith.

Mr. Horrighs was a 43 year member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was formally employed as a coal miner at the Freeman Crown Mine in Farmersville, retiring in 1972. Surviving are his wife Josephine; three daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Davis and Alberta Alexander both of Springfield, and Shirley Marie Richno of Red Bud; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Ossola officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
