Mr. Horrighs was a 43 year member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was formally employed as a coal miner at the Freeman Crown Mine in Farmersville, retiring in 1972. Surviving are his wife Josephine; three daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Davis and Alberta Alexander both of Springfield, and Shirley Marie Richno of Red Bud; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Ossola officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
