Mrs. Jenny Lottie Owens, 95, 505 E. Cedar, a long-time resident of Garden City, died yesterday at her home. She had been in ill health for three years. Born Feb. 22, 1874 at Kokomo, Ind., she was married to James L. Owens March 25, 1893, at Preston. He died in December 1931. Mrs. Owens had lived here 74 years, moving to Garden City after her marriage. She first lived in a house located at the site of the present Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Claude D., 309 S. 7th, Clyne, Peoria, Ill., and Wendall, Portland, Ore.; five daughters, Elizabeth Owens, 505 E. Cedar, Mrs. Myron Moler, 1712 George, Mrs. Opal Duvaul, Ashland, Ore., Mrs. Sophia Goulding, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Jessie Mashburn, Knoxville, Tenn., 22 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Garnand Funeral Chapel with V. Alex Bills officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call until service time at Garnand Funeral Home.
