Bryan L Hayes

GALVESTON - Bryan Hayes made the transition to eternal life Friday, May 4, 2001, at a UTMB hospital after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Bryan was born July 19, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to James E. and Alice Hayes. He was a 20 year resident of Galveston and dearly loved the city. He worked for a number of years with Alexander-Chiles offshore drilling and with Galveston Beverage and Royal Distributors of Conroe for 16 years.

Bryan was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1973.

He is preceded in death by his father, a sister and two brothers.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Hayes of Dallas, Texas; stepmother, Joan Hayes of Austin, Texas; sister, Sharon Garrison and husband, Olin, of Garland, Texas: brother. Tom Green and his family of Roundrock, Texas, and aunt and uncle Polly and Robt. Hayes of Lyles, Tennessee. Bryan had many friends who loved him.

He was an unselfish, loyal and loving son, brother and friend. His courage will be a guide and example to us all. A gathering to celebrate Bryan's life is planned for Saturday, May 12, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Baja Beach Club on Galveston's East End.

Gifts in Bryan's memory may be made to Shriners Burns Hospital in Galveston, Texas.
