Delvin, age 27/28, farmer, born Louisville, Kentucky, Jefferson County, enlisted on August 9, 1862 in Lebanon, Missouri as a Pvt. in Company "I" of the 8th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, USA. - August 1862 On Duty, Guard at Post. - October 1863 On Extra/Daily Duty. - November 13, 1862 Absent, Sick in Springfield, Missouri Hospital. - April 22, 1863 Absent, On Scout Duty. - July 18, 1863 Absent, Left Sick in General Hospital at Bloomfield, Missouri. - August 2, 1863 Absent, Sick at Helena, Arkansas. - August 26, 1863 Attached to Webster General Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee and shown as Sick at Home on Furlough through October 1863. * September 12, 1863 Card, Requisition Order # 708: For Pvt. Charles D. * The above documentation was Posted sometime back. - June of 2023, I document that Pvt. Charles D. Devlin was married to "Mandy" Biggs, a sister to my Great-grandfather. By Marriage, I have another kinship who served in the same Regiment as my Great-grandfather.
