Born to Charles and Martha Depew near LaFollette, TN, Betty grew up in a large family. At the age of 8, she moved with her family to Leavenworth, WA. At 17, Betty married Levi Wilson. They had two children, Jeffrey and Jennifer and divorced in 1975. In 1977, Betty married Geane LaRose. They remained married until Geane's death in 1990. Betty was a wonderful mother and grandmother of 5 granchildren, whom she loved dearly. Joseph, Bridget, Zachary, Joshua and Elizabeth. She was a strong woman who survived many hardships in life, but was always deeply rooted in her beliefs of God and family. She believed in opening her heart and her home to those in need and did so often and gave a home to those who did not have one. Betty also took great joy in her many neices and nephews, as she was without a child of her own from 1951 until 1965. During those years, she filled her time and love of children with her nieces and nephews. She and Levi would often take them for overnight and even summer visits. Betty was always proud of the many good times and fond memories of her neices and nephews.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, a mother to those who had none and a friend to people from many walks of life. Betty taught us all a valuable lesson in love. That it is unending and lives on through all eternity. It is the first thing she offered us when she graced our lives and it is what she left in each of our hearts the day the Lord called her home.
