Andy was born September 10, 1938 in New Haven, a son of the late Henry and Mae (Kathan) Burke.
Besides his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by three children, Drew (Susan) Burke, Dawn (Steven) Dounouk and Scott (Ann) Burke. He was the beloved grandfather of Ashley Burke and her fiancé, Ryan Dafgek, Drew Burke, Jordan and Zachary Dounouk and Erin, Elizabeth and Sarah Burke. Andrew also leaves behind his sister, Ellen (Robert) Staneslow and his sister-in-law, Nancy Burke. He was predeceased by his brother, David Burke.
Andy worked as a credit manager for over 45 years. He coached Little League Baseball and Basketball in Prospect and was also a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts. He loved fishing, writing poetry, making model airplanes, watching movies and old television shows, feeding the birds and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Visitation will be held on the morning of the service from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.
