Billy Glenn Daniels, lifelong resident of McCrory went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the age of 68. He was born in McCrory, Arkansas on February 19, 1949, the son of L. A. and Cloraree Stracner Daniels.

Billy was born at his home in Pumpkin Bend. He attended primary school at Pumpkin Bend, and graduated from McCrory High School where he played basketball and was active in the FFA.

In his early teens, Billy started working on Peacock farms, which led to his love of farming. He continued to work for them through his college years at ASU Jonesboro.

After college, he and his best friend, Theral Birmingham, started “over the road” trucking to California. A couple of years later, he had begun working for the highway department when he met the love of his life, Pam Reddell. Shortly after they wed, in 1973, he began farming with his father-in-law, Kenneth Reddell and his brother-in-law, Ronnie. His brother-in-law, Larry, farmed the adjacent farm. Together, their families enjoyed many years of farming, hunting, fishing, playing croquet, and most of all Mema’s big home cooked dinners. It was during these years that their children, Lincoln and Kevin, were born. They were blessed to have Kevin for two special years. Lincoln has continued to make his family and especially his father proud. Through his years of high school and college at the Uof A, Billy enjoyed watching him play in the band. As adults, they enjoyed their special times fishing and hunting together. They were more than father and son, they were best friends. Billy always said that each generation should be better than the last. Lincoln fulfilled that for Billy; he was so proud of all that his son has become and accomplished.

In the early 90s, Billy resumed his trucking career as a truck retriever for Maverick Transportation. After 21 years with Maverick and more than 2 million safe miles on the road, Billy retired and began a new career with a higher calling. In February 2013, at the age of 62, Billy became an ordained minister and accepted the pastorate at Grays Apostolic Christian Church. All of his past careers seemed to prepare him for this one which he considered his favorite.

Billy’s life revolved around God, Church, and family. He loved going to fellowship meetings and visiting. He had a servant’s spirit and a special love for people. Billy’s most prized possession was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and Pap. He and Pam enjoyed many trips together, but their favorite thing was staying at home, working in the yard, and enjoying time with each other and their family.

Mr. Daniels is preceded in death by one son, Kevin Howard Daniels, his parents, L. A. and Cloraree Daniels, and his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Loucilla Reddell.

Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife, Pam Reddell Daniels of McCrory, Arkansas, one son, Lincoln Daniels and wife Christy of Marion, Arkansas, two granddaughters, Sarah Kate and Ella Grace Daniels of Marion, Arkansas, his brother-in-law, Ronnie Reddell and wife Carol of McCrory, Arkansas, his sister-in-law, Gwen Brogdon and husband Larry of McCrory, Arkansas.
