Ashley Michelle Trent Fitzgerald, 31, of Lynch Station died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at her residence. She was the wife of Justin Blake Fitzgerald.

She was born July 16, 1985 in Lynchburg. Ashley was a faithful and devoted member of Mount Hermon United Methodist Church and a Medical Office Associate II with the Centra Medical Group of Gretna. She was a graduate of Altavista High School Class of 2003; loved camping, traveling, making crafts and was a huge Disney fan. She most of all loved her family, friends and co-workers.

She is survived by her father, Steven Matthew Trent and his wife Sharon of Evington; her mother, Deborah Bennett Wydner and her husband Billy of Brookneal; a daughter, Kaylee Blake Fitzgerald of Lynch Station; a sister, Stephanie Trent Taylor and her husband Matt of Hurt; a grandmother, Myrtle Pugh Bennett of Altavista; a stepsister, Theresa Wyatt Myers and her husband Kenny of Hurt; two stepbrothers, Lewis Wydner and his wife Lindsey of Monroe and Abraham Wydner and his wife Rachel of Asheville, NC; her mother-in-law and father-in- law, Kristi and James Fitzgerald, Sr. of Farmville; her special canine companion, Hershey; special friends, Michelle Hogan and Devin Lloyd; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dorothy Hutcherson Gooch, Randy Elmo Bennett, Mary Wood Trent and Junior Elmer Trent; and a great grandmother, Bertha Andrews Dowdy.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. Dawn Compton with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
