Josie Chavez, 44, of Lorenzo went to be with her Lord March 28, 2014. She was born November 28, 1969 in Floydada, Texas to Clemente and Maria Samarripas Chavez. She was a longtime employee of Lorenzo ISD as a teacher assistant, where she enjoyed working with her students. She really loved her job and the Dallas Cowboys and reading.
Josie was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by three daughters; Marina Chavez, Amanda and Anna Ybarra all of Lorenzo and her Mother Marie Isabell Chavez of Lorenzo. Josie also leaves behind five brothers; Juan Chavez of Roma, Carlos Chavez of Lorenzo, Fidencio Chavez of Idalou, Steven Chavez of Amarillo and Jamie Chavez of Lubbock, three sisters, Mary Chavez of Lorenzo, Esmer Alcala of Lorenzo and Isabell Vargas of Lorenzo.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. A Rosary service will be held 7:00 P.M. Monday at the same church.
