Joseph J. Cash, 65 of Houston, joined the Lord while surrounded by family on May 24, 2017.

Born in Hearne, Texas to Jimmie and Mary (Cangelose) Cash on October 26, 1951, his parents soon relocated to Houston after the death of his father. Spending most of his childhood in South Houston and attending various schools he later began iron work in the mid 70’s as Houston was growing. Hanging up the welding helmet to pursue other dreams, he was a jack of all trades and successful in every career choice. In 1991 he opened his own business to service the Houston area with honest, hard working home repairs and home construction from the ground up. Always a cowboy at heart, he became well known amongst family and friends for his compassion for raising his horses and treating everyone to the cowboy experience. Also having a passion for fishing, he loved spending time on the dock or the boat throwing out a line with his children and grandchildren, always helping to exaggerate the size of the catch. He seemed to “just miss” the big one every time.

Joe is preceded in death by first his father, younger brother Jimmie and then his mother. He is survived by his wife Brenda, son Joey and wife Megan Cash, daughter Kellie Perrone, and grandchildren Aeylah, Ethan, Makena, and Jonah. He is also survived by his sister Patsy and brother Samuel and wife Lynette, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He was considered a bright, shining star for everyone that was family or friend. As he enters the gates of Heaven he will be welcomed by all who have been expecting him with open arms and love.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, May 30th, and the funeral service will be at 10:00am Wednesday, May 31st, all held at Niday Funeral Home – Beamer Chapel. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. All are invited to attend and celebrate his wonderful life with family and friends.

Special thanks to all the staff and helpful people that contributed towards his treatment and in comforting him.
