"Chauncey V Gray, 78, of 313 W Oak St, died at 5 pm on Thursday, March 6, 1986, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie. Mr Gray was born at Graysville, Ohio, on Nov 30, 1907, a son of the late Dennis and Melissa Lindemood Gray. He was married to the former Mary Paine on Aug 25, 1934, in Parkersburg, W Va. Mr Gray was a graduate of Woodsfield (Ohio) High School with the class of 1926. He later was graduated from Muskingum College at New Concord, Ohio, in the class of 1930. He was employed by Cities Service Refinery in their production department from 1936 to 1950. He was later employed by Quaker State Oil Corporation as production superintendent from 1950 until his retirement in 1972. Mr Gray was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He served on the board of the Titusville Area Joint School Authority and the Merged School Authority. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs Robert H (Janet) French of Melford (sic) [Milford], Conn; three grandchildren, Melissa French and Megan French of Melford (sic) [Milford], Conn, and Christopher French, a student at Muskingum College; a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by two sisters. No calling hours will be observed. A private funeral service will be conducted from the Gordon B Garrett Funeral Home on Monday at the convenience of the family with Rev Mark T Ruppert, assistant pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery."
