Winifred Virginia Morosa July 6, 1915 - Feb. 15, 2007 Visitation for Winifred Virginia Morosa will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning February 19, 2007 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (900 H St.) The Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Bangor, Maine. Winifred is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Nora Igoe; sister, Pauline Igoe; brother, Thomas Igoe; sister, Eleanor Igoe Manley; Brother, Francis W. Igoe. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Igoe; nieces, Marlene Brantzeg and Barbara Hafenstein; nephews, William Igoe, Cory Brantzeg and Brian Hafenstein and numerous other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Winifred was born July 6, 1910 in Bangor, Maine to her parents Thomas and Nora Igoe. Winifred spent her childhood in Maine and graduated from Bangor high school – a star in the women's basketball team. Winifred moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue a career as a secretary. She later moved to Bakersfield and worked for Standard Oil Company for 30 years. After retirement she was able to travel. She loved spending time with her nephews and went on many day trips to the coast. Winifred was active in her church where she worked for many years in the religious article store and she also was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital. The family wants to thank her wonderful caregivers and a caring touch for all their help and many thanks to Odyssey Hospice for their loving care.
