Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Ames, 51, of Stoddard, passed away Tuesday, May, 23, 2017, at her home.

Becky was born August 16, 1965, in Caledonia, Minn., to George and Melpha (Sagdalen) Fishel. Proving once again, they always leave the best for last; she was the last of nine children born. At the age of six months, after the death of her mother, she went to live with Ed and Marge “Ma and Pa” Richmond. Becky attended school in La Cresent, Minn., and graduated in 1983.

On June 13, 1992, she married Steven Ames in La Crosse. together they had one son, Zachary Ray Ames, and they later divorced.

Rebecca Lynn (Fishel) Ames, known to many as “Little Becky” was one of those people who had the largest of hearts. Her kindness, positive attitude, and tiny smile were enough to brighten anyones day. Becky always did her best, but more importantly she always made sure those around her were at their best. Little Becky was the kind of person to offer the shirt off her back, the food off her plate, and the warmth in her heart to any soul in need. She wasn’t always the one with the most to give, but she was always the one who gave the most. Becky will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. We love you, Little Becky.

Survivors include her son, Zachary Ames of Stoddard, Wis.; life-partner, Paul Tully of Stoddard, Wis.; three brothers, John (Sandy) Fishel of Houston, Minn., Douglas Fishel of Crescent City, Calif., and Craig (Diane) Fishel of Canton, Minn.; sister, Delpha (Dean) Blumentritt of Onalaska, Wis.; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine-child, Balooga.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Melpha Fishel; brothers, George Fishel Jr., and James Fishel, Richard Fishel; and sister, Bonnie Dolan.

A memorial service concluding with a time of sharing will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse.
A visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Stoddard American Legion, 414 Broadway St, Stoddard, WI
