Jerry married his beautiful sweetheart, Marlene Paula VanGiesen on January 17, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jerry was a minister and youth pastor. His ministry took him to San Fernando, California; Sweet Home, Oregon; Sequim, Washington and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before moving to Branson.
Jerry was a hot rod, Harley enthusiast and built custom cars. He was a member of Bloom Church in Branson. Jerry was a great man who enjoyed people and will be missed by his family and friends.
He entered into rest on April 18, 2016 at Cox Medical Center Branson at the age of 71.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vicki Starling High; and three half siblings, Ava Pauline Brown, Mary Ruth Hill and Bud Starling.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Starling of Branson; daughter, Nicole Pufall and husband Nathan of Branson; brother, Robert Starling and wife Marlene of Palmdale, California; sister, Diane Millsap of Las Vegas, Nevada and three grandchildren, Brodie, Brynlee and Bryce.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clay Cooper Theater in Branson with Pastor Mike Carlton and Frank Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson with military honors by the United States Navy and Vietnam Veterans of America. Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
