ELKHART — Johnny Stewart Jr., 77, of Elkhart, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Nov. 21, 1939, in Sikeston, Missouri, to late Johnny Stewart Sr. and Annie Mae Rogers.

Johnny married Grace Ann Mason in 1971 and remained married for 46 years until his death.

He was employed by Bayer Corp. in 1968 and worked there for 34 years before his retirement in 2002.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Grace; his children, Johnny Jr. III, Barry Stewart, Thomas (Vickie) Mason, Jefferey Stewart, Janice Stewart and Byron (Glennis) Bonner; brothers LeRoy (JoAnn) Stewart, Ricky Stewart, Donald Stewart; sisters Betty (Douglas) Lewis, Jackie Stewart, Vickie Frazier, Mary Bethea and Sylvia Holloman; and also a stepmother, Margie Stewart.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Alberta Larkin, Louella Fowler, Fannie Robinson and Richard Stewart; and daughter Rhonda Sutton (possible ??? FAG 99557219).

The funeral service will be at noon Saturday, May 27, at Community Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Emeritus, the Rev. Lefate Owens.

The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery.

Services are handled by Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
