James L. Shealy, 73, retired farmer and merchant and resident of 2219 Rosewood Drive, died at 8:30 last night at the Columbia Hospital after an illness of two years.
He was born in Little Mountain, Sept. 13, 1882, a son of the late Nora Derrick and Preston Shealy and had lived in Columbia practically his entire life. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillie McKenzie Shealy, formerly of Bishopville, to whom he had been married 43 years.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Dunbar Funeral Home, Conducted by his pastor, the Rev. A. Kenneth Hewitt. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
