Thomas M. “Tom” Houston, age 72, of Buford, GA passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kathryn “Kitty” Houston, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Nathan Houston, Sarah Houston, Maddline Houston; brothers, John and Carol Houston, Prescott, AZ, Paul Houston and Kate Padgen, New York, NY, Rich Houston and Laura DeCurcio, Tokoma, MD; sisters, Loretta Houston, Gambrills, MD, Ann and Mike Sweeney, St. Michaels, MD, Frances and Bill Flowers, Fulton, MD; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Houston was born on October 30, 1944 in Washington, DC. He was a 1962 graduate of Walter Johnson High School, and of Augusta College with a Bachelor’s degree in 1981 and Master’s degree in 1983. Mr. Houston was co-owner of Arby’s Restaurant in Lawrenceville, GA, and he worked for Nordstrom. Also he was a pilot and a fifteen-year veteran of the U. S. Army. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Dumond officiating. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 10 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
