Johnny Nathaniel Hicks, 66, of Straight Mountain, AL passed away on May 19, 2017. Mr. Hicks served in the Army National Guard for several years and was very proud of his service to his country. He worked as the Custodian for Appalachian High School for over 20 years. He enjoyed farming and yard work and loved to be outside. He was passionate about Ford Trucks and the United States Army.
Mr. Hicks is preceded in death by parents, A.J. and Velma Ryan Hicks.
He is survived by brother, Jimmy Hicks (Donna) of Straight Mountain; niece, Kristina Hicks Shea (Tracy) of Oneonta; nephew, Tim Hicks (Mandy) of Charlotte, NC; two great nieces and three great nephews.
Bro. Jack DeCanter and Tim Hicks will officiate memorial services on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11AM from the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10AM until service time.
