Sarah was daughter of Willis Lamb and Sarah Pennington. Her parents moved to Mississippi and then to Washington Co. AR by 1850. They were in Christian Co. living next door to the Gilmores by 1860. After Sarah and husband James Gilmore moved to Sparta, her parents moved to Stone Co. After James died, Sarah moved next to son Grant Gilmore on west Commercial Street in Springfield where she died.
