Lettie and Carlos remained in Wisconsin, farming, for a couple of years after he was discharged and then removed to Stanstead for a couple more. They immigrated to the gold mining community of Camptonville in Northern California in 1868 and to Santa Ana, in Southern California, in 1880.
Lettie and Carlos had six children:
1) Ozro Edward, b. Oct. 24, 1865 in Westford, WI; d. Jul. 6, 1945 in Santa Ana, CA. Married on Apr. 30, 1889, Helene Arlene Brownell (1871 - 1952) in Douglas County, Nebraska. They had seven children.
2) Frederick W., b. Oct. 10, 1868 in Camptonville, CA; d. Aug. 22, 1922 in Santa Ana, CA. Married on Mar. 30, 1891, Minnie C. Gardner (1868 - 1936). They had three children.
3) Nina Helen, b. Dec. 9, 1870 in Camptonville; d. Jun. 19, 1958 in Santa Ana. Married on Apr. 9, 1903, Earl. G. Glenn (1870 - 1938). They had two children.
4) Albert Harrison, b. Sep. 19, 1872 in Camptonville; d. Mar. 1941 in Los Angeles, CA. Married on Mar. 2, 1898, Annette "Nettie" O. Badgley (1876 - 1966). They had two children.
5) Lelia Emma, b. Mar. 15, 1878, Camptonville; d. Jun. 17, 1957 in Los Angeles. Married on Dec. 16, 1902, Frank Robert Talbott (1880 - 1953). They had four children.
6) Carl Orin, b. Nov. 19, 1882, Santa Ana; d. Dec. 26, 1972, Santa Ana. Married 1st on Dec. 6, 1906, Neva Collins (1879 - 1972). They had one child. Married 2nd, bet. 1920 and 1930, Ellen E. Benson (1884 - 1972).
After bearing children, Lettie became a physician. She graduated from the Denver Hemeopathic College in 1896. [The House of Mansur, p. 73].
Lettie and Carlos resided at 1103 N. Main St., Santa Ana (now a market). She died there and was interred in Fairhaven Memorial Park two days later. Her grave rests between her husband, Carlos, and her brother, George Harrison Gale. Her youngest son, Carl, is buried in the same grave.
