ST. JOSEPH Sister Elizabeth A. Widmer, 85, died Saturday at St Benedict's Convent. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict's Convent Chapel. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. Friends may call until 6 p.m. today at St Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud, and after 7 p.m. today and 8 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict's Convent, St. Joseph. There will be a wake service at 7 tonight at the chapel in St. Joseph. " Sister Elizabeth Widmer was born Sept 23, 1907, in Heidelberg to Joseph and Elizabeth (Hentges) Widmer. She entered St. Benedict's Convent on June 16, 1926, made first vows on July 11, 1927, and final vows on July 11, 1930. She taught elementary school children, specializing in teaching children with special needs, for 51 years at the following schools: St. Mary's, St. Cloud; Avon; St. Joseph's, Minneapolis; Sauk Centre; and St. Wendelin's, Luxemburg. She volunteered as a CCD teacher, was a receptionist and worked with handicapped children. She retired in 1992. Survivors include her brother and sisters, Cletus, Yuma, Ariz.; Gertrude Pitschneider and Mary, Shakopee; Louise Mensing, Minneapolis; and Rose Skarie, Edina. She was preceded in death by her parents.
