Beverly Ann May of Anchorage, Alaska, entered heaven on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015. She is now walking with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and singing with angels, no longer in pain. Beverly was born in Jerome, Idaho, on April 16, 1940, and was the youngest of three children born to Irvin Linn and Verna Margaret (Fuller) Holloway. The family moved to southern California when Beverly was a young girl, to find a warmer climate to help with her rheumatoid arthritis that she suffered from since the age of 7. Beverly graduated from Coachella Valley High School in Thermal, Calif. Following high school, Beverly moved to Fresno, Calif., which led her to the location where she met the love of her life, George Fredrick May. They met on Labor Day Weekend, 1960, at a Baptist Student Union Retreat at the Hume Lake Conference Grounds. George offered to drive her home from the retreat, and although she felt that he drove too fast, it didn't stop her from falling in love. He and Beverly were married on June 10, 1961, in Fresno, and celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year. Beverly devoted her life to raising her three children. She resided at the Prestige Care and Rehabilitation Center of Anchorage since May 2002. Beverly loved arts, crafts and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald L. Holloway; and granddaughter, Hannah Rose May. Beverly is survived by her husband George, two daughters, son, a sister, eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Legacy Funeral Home, Heritage Chapel at Angelus, 440 East Klatt Rd. in Anchorage. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation: arthritis.org.
