John Warner Tabb, Sr.

John passed peacefully in his home on March 7, 2017 at the age of 93. He was born to Frank and Ricka Tabb on April 29, 1923 in Glendale, KY and lived on the family farm through high school. John obtained his Master's Degree in Education from the University of Louisville and taught Business Education and Accounting for several years in Louisville. A career change brought him to Seattle in 1967 as Branch Manager of Victor Business Machines. In 1976, John started his own business, Firstline Office Supply in Lynnwood, WA, and it grew to become the largest office supply store in Snohomish County. He ran the business for 30 years with his wife Lois (Jo), his son, John Jr. and daughter-in-law, Bonnie, and many loyal employees.

John was a true southern gentleman, kind and warm, and was loved by his family, friends, and customers alike. John and Jo enjoyed 73 years of happy marriage. He adored his family.

John was an avid sports fan, especially basketball. He was still shooting hoops into his early 80's. John and Jo were long time ticket holders to U of Washington basketball. He was known for his joyous whistling while doing chores, working in the yard, or doing dishes. He enjoyed bird watching especially hummingbirds. He was quite the ping pong player and could play equally well left or right handed.

He is survived by his wife Jo, his son John Jr. (Bonnie) and two granddaughters, Katy, and Kimmy (Garrett). The family will celebrate John's life privately.
