New London, NH - V. Carol Jordan, 91, of New London, NH died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Concord Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, of over 50 years in 1997.
Born in St. Louis, MO, Carol married William F. Jordan in 1946. With a young family, Carol and Bill moved to Concord, NH in 1960. Carol devoted her time to family and community service. She was Treasurer of The League of Women Voters, on the Board of the Visiting Nurse Association, a member of the Junior Service League, and President of the Concord Hospital Associates and Volunteers. She also served six years as a Girl Scout Leader. For fun, Carol enjoyed skiing with her family in the winter and spending summers on Lake Sunapee. In retirement, she and Bill moved to New London and divided their time between NH and Longboat Key, FL. Carol was a congregant at St. Paul’s Church, Concord, and St. Andrews, New London. Throughout her life, she remained passionate about family, books, current events, and travel.
Carol is survived by two sons, Stephen B. Jordan of Windham, NH, and James R. and his wife Mary C. Jordan of Southborough, MA; a daughter, Julia J. Alexander of Sarasota, FL; and seven cherished grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 52 Gould Road, New London, NH and burial will follow in West Part Cemetery, New London, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 294, New London, NH 03257.
