MAYSVILLE -- Carrie Ackley, 94, of Maysville, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.

She was the widow of James “Clark” Ackley, who died Nov. 30, 1999.

Mrs. Ackley worked as a private home healthcare provider to many.

She was born in Robertson County on July 7, 1922, the daughter of the late Clarence and Carrie Herrington French.

She is survived by her five sons, Thomas Carpenter (Bonnie) of Maysville, Samuel Carpenter (Gloria Schmidt) of Aurora, Ind., Jimmy Ackley Jr. (Penny) of Cleves, Ohio, Mike Ackley (Rhonda) of Middletown, Ohio, and Samuel “Junior” Carpenter Jr. (Pinky) of Maysville; one daughter, Shirley Jean “Jeannie” Conie (John) of May’s Lick; four step-daughters, Darlene Bates, Eula Fearin, Kathleen Youngman and Geraldine Browning; grandchildren, Missy Lawrence, Kieran Ackley, Jimmy Ackley, Kimmy Benjamin, Brittney Shepherd, Samantha Silvers and Miranda Carpenter; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Carpenter and Scottie Ackley; one step-son, Junice Ackley; one granddaughter, Jeanette Mason; five sisters, Goldie Wiley, Myrtle Taylor, Lydia Jett, Lucille Moran and Mable Baker; and four brothers, Luther, Emmitt and Hildreth French and Clarencie French.

Services for Carrie Ackley will be private and held at the convenience of her family.

Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery.

The arrangements are entrusted with the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
