Sandra McMillian Childers, 76, of Estero, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Leawood, KS. She was born September 2, 1940 in Kansas City, KS, to the late Melvin and Marie McMillian.
She grew up in KCK and graduated from Wyandotte HS in 1959. Sandra married Dennis Childers in August of 1960. The couple raised 3 children in Overland Park, KS before retiring to Clinton, MO then on to Estero, FL. Sandra was very active in the community and enjoyed many hobbies. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dennis Childers and son Jeff Childers. Surviving are daughters Susan (Rodney) Mrkvicka of Leawood, KS and Lisa Childers of Clinton, MO. Grandchildren are Katie Mrkvicka, Emily Mrkvicka, Todd (Tori) DesCombes, and Tina DesCombes.
