In 1966 Larry and Barbara moved to Ogden, Utah where Larry attended Weber State College. Their son, Bradley Lyle, was born in June of 1969. Larry received his BA degree from Weber State in 1970 and went to work at Great Salt Lake Minerals and Chemicals Co.
In 1975 they moved back to Montpelier to purchase the Jenkinson family farm. In addition to working the farm, Larry worked fulltime at Beker Industries in Soda Springs, Id. In 1978 Larry left Beker to operate the farm fulltime.
In 2006 Larry and Barbara became snowbirds, spending the winter months in Arizona, but continued to work the farm during the summer until they sold the farm in 2013 and “retired”.
Larry was very active in the community. He served as President of the Montpelier Lions Club as well as the Montpelier Irrigation Company. He was also a member of the Montpelier Mosquito Abatement Committee, the Bear Lake County Weed Control Board, and the Caribou Cattle Assn. Additionally, he gave numerous volunteer hours to the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.
A viewing will be held at the Schwabb-Matthews Mortuary May, 25 from 6:00-8:00 pm. A viewing will be held at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on May 26, at 10-10:45 am with funeral services at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at the Montpelier City Cemetery.
