Mrs. Norman Brown of the town of Fitchburg, died at her home of consumption, Feb 13. She was the only daughter of Mary A. Starks, who died in Sun Prairie township in August 1882. She was born in Black River, Jefferson County, N.Y., in 1853. Her father died in 1856, and she and her mother moved to Wisconsin about a year later, living with the family of Dr. J. S. Dailey of Cottage Grove. She was married Dec. 30, 1875, to Norman Brown, and they lived in the town of Sun Prairie for 19 years. April 1, 1899, they bought and moved onto the farm known as the L. D. Stone farm in the Town of Fitchburg. The deceased had been in poor health for several years, but during the last year her suffering was very great. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Cottage Grove. She leaves a husband and four children and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral was held Sunday and the remains laid at rest in the Cottage Grove cemetery. Mr. Frank Hall conducted the services at the house and Rev. Adams at the grave.
