Elisabeth Airth married James Halliday on September 29, 1815 at Relief Church in Barony, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (She was the daughter of Adam Airth and Elisbeth Gardner)

At the urging of her brother Sgt Henry Airth, she came with husband James Halliday and their family to Canada 1848/49.

"On the 22nd Feb., Elizabeth AIRTH, relict of the late James HALLIDAY of Horton, aged 89 years and 10 months. Much respected during life and regretted in death."

"Mrs HALLIDAY, sister of the late Henry AIRTH Sr, one of the earliest settlers in this part, and mother of Mr David HALLIDAY and aunt of Messrs Robert, David, Henry and William AIRTH, died on Sunday, 22nd inst., at her daughter's residence in this village, at the advanced age of 89 years and 10 months.

The funeral took place on Tuesday, the 24th inst., and was noticeable for the large number of elderly persons present among the mourners, most of them early settlers in Horton, Admaston, and McNab, and consequently neighbours of the deceased, before the village of Renfrew was in existence."
