Frank A. Kelly, Sr., 91, of Savannah, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at his daughter’s residence.

He was born on June 21, 1925, in Savannah, a son of the late Lawrence and Frankie Oppenheim Kelly.

Frank attended Savannah Schools and served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge from the army, he joined the Georgia Air National Guard and was called up to serve in the Korean conflict.

He returned to Savannah, and in 1957, along with his wife, established Frank’s Uniforms, Inc. He was a lifetime member and former Post Commander of the American Legion, Post 135. Frank also served as National Vice Commander of the American Legion.

Frank is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Edna Lanier Kelly; siblings, Lawrence J. Kelly, Doris K. Kroskin, Bertie K. Kroskin, Sara K. Landrum, Gen. William H. Kelly and Cecile K. Arenson; grandchildren, Allen J. McKenna and Phillip G. Kelly.

Survivors include his daughter, Frances Kelly McKenna (Frank) of Simpsonville, SC; sons, Frank A. Kelly, Jr. of Savannah and Dr. Michael T. Kelly of Savannah; sister, Adeline Roth of Largo, Fl; grandchildren, Kelly Michelle McKenna’ (Josh), Frank A. Kelly, III (Jared) and Noa Kuszai; one great-granddaughter, Zoe McKenna Thomason; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Sunday, May 21, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. The funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday, May 22, graveside, at Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah with Rabbi Robert Haas officiating.
