Mr. Michael Wayne Messer, 45, of Callebs Creek, passed away Wednesday morning, May 24, 2017 at his home. He was a son of Tip Messer and the late Louise Messer born on August 3, 1971 in Barbourville.

Michael was a phlebotomist with Kentucky One Neurology Associates in London and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed sports, hunting, farming and cooking.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellis and Nancy Hammons Messer and Gilbert and Alabama Smith Messer.

Survivors include his father, Tip Messer of Callebs Creek; a sister, Dena Messer of Callebs Creek; a brother, Anthony Messer and wife, April, of Pineville; his best friend, Marty Jordan; a special “sister”, Ashley Broughton; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, May 28 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Broughton officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery at Hinkle.

Casket bearers will be family and friends. Honorary bearers will be the staff of Kentucky One Neurology Associates.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
