Jerry Wells, 79, of Amarillo died on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

Memorial services will be at 2:30, Sunday, May 28, 2017 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Jerry was born October 29, 1937 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Vernon and Ester Wells. Jerry graduated from Tangier High School and proudly served his country in the National Guard. He married Peggy Jackson on November 26, 1975 in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Amarillo in 1975 where Jerry owned Kobe American Management. Jerry was a member of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Hillside Christian Church and was a 32nd degree Mason. Special memories include all of the family reunions, trips to New Orleans with Peggy and his mother “Toots”, Dutch oven cook-offs with his sister Gayle and going to garage sales looking for hidden treasures. Jerry also loved to play golf and go on fishing trips to Lake Amistad and fly fishing on the San Juan River with his family. Prankster, Generous, Innovative, Fun and Indestructible are the adjectives describing this man who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he will be greatly missed by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Cindy Ray and husband Keith; a son, Chris Wells and wife Ellen; two step daughters, Jana May and husband Mike and Robbie Davis and husband Shane; a sister, Gayle Ritchie and husband Mark; ten grandchildren, Brett Stout and wife Hannah, Sara Pipes, Lauren Paull and husband Casey, Amanda Cottrill and husband Ryan, Seth Davis and wife Sarabeth, Kaitlyn Skaggs, Marshall Ray, Cole Skaggs, Maddie Wells and Max Wells and five great grandchildren, McKinley Paull, Maverick Paull, Sagen Stout, Samson Paull and Owen Cottrill.
