Bob Hutchins was a United States Deputy Marshal for the better part of 50 years, He started out working for Judge Isaac C. Parker in Fort Smith, serving under several Marshals as a deputy. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. He was chief of police of Ardmore (1915-1917). And worked as a special agent on the railroad. At one time he worked for the mexican Goverment as a narcotics agent. A book about the life and times of Mr Hutchins was written by Elmer LeRoy Baker, Gunmans Territory, It told of all the positions he held during his career as a peace officer. "note" When Bob Hutchins started his career he was the youngest U.S. Deputy Marshal to serve under Judge Parker.
