Aileen Owens Birt, 91, passed away on May 18, 2017 in the Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville SC.
Mrs. Birt was born in Barnwell County on May 12, 1926. She was a daughter of the late Aiken and Edna Collins Owens. She was a retired employee of Shuron Inc. and a member of Hagood Ave. Baptist Church. She was known for her beautiful flowers and garden and was a wonderful cook. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, May 24, 20127 in the Hagood Ave. Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Catoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. Visitation will be one hour prior the services in the church.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Ann and Les Hutsell of Simpsonville SC; grandchildren, Tara (Dave) Brown, Scott Hutsell and Brad (Sara) Hutsell; great grandchildren, Jeffery Howard, Lauren Howard, Blair Howard (her namesake), Aubrey Hutsell, Bradlee Hutsell and Garrett Hutsell. She was predeceased by her husband, James L. Birt and her brothers and sisters; Tommy Owens, Etheridge Aiken “Sonny” Owens, Katherine Beasley, Vera Johnson, Jennie Lou Croft, Margie Boyd and Edith Smith.
