Cheryl Anne Peterson, 55, of Hibbing, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1956, in Virginia, the daughter of Richard Allen and Esther Anne (Soper) Peterson. She grew up and attended schools in Hibbing, graduating from Hibbing High School. After graduation, she studied art at St. Cloud State University for a year.

Cheryl was an avid fisherwoman and hunter. She was a talented seamstress, taxidermist and painter. She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her children and her grandson, Cooper. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Grateful for having the privilege of sharing her life are her three children: Stephanie Simmer of San Diego, Calif., Matthew Clark (Sarah Patterson) of Hibbing, and Alisha Scofield of Hibbing; one grandson, Cooper Clark of Hibbing; two sisters, Sandra (Jack) Radovich of Hibbing and Pauline (Steve) Madrinich of Chaska, Minn.; her godmother and aunt, Fran Shimmin of Virginia; her other aunt, Coralee "Lee" Soper of Australia; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
