Daniel (Brother) Lee Chapman Jr, 13 of Hudson NC, was given his perfect body on May 21st 2017 while holding the hands of his parents. His final days were surrounded by family and friends whose lives he touched in many ways throughout his short, yet very memorable life.
Daniel possessed strength, stubbornness and a determination to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage & smile he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours playing with his stuffed animals “babies” which he loved so much. He enjoyed music, food, being outside with his siblings, playing with shoes and going on vacation. He spent his days with a contagious smile on his face that we all loved to see. He loved to sit shotgun in the car so he could change the radio stations to a song he wanted, and he could dance. With Daniel’s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his smile, and laugh, he will forever remain in our hearts. We were able to create wonderful memories and it has been an honor that God allowed us to be his parents.
Daniel leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Daniel’s love extends to his favorite nurses, Danielle, Virginia & Brittany. There is a special place in our hearts for Daniel’s Doctors at SECU Mission Oncology in Asheville because of their continual dedication, care, love and support for him. Thank you also to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care for their team of caregivers and Doctors for making Daniel’s final days peaceful. We know God has held our Daniel in the palm of his hand from the very beginning.

Daniel’s Memorial service will be in the heart of Hudson, at the Hudson Uptown Building 145 Cedar Valley Road, Hudson NC on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Receiving of friends will be from 6pm-7pm, and the memorial service will start at 7pm-8pm. Flowers can be delivered/sent to Hudson Uptown Building, and donations can be made in Daniel’s memory to the Make-A-wish foundation on their webpage.
