Floyd Alfred Price, 95, peacefully passed on May 19, 2017. He was born in the home of his parents, William and Cora Price, on Oct. 31, 1921. Floyd lived on the home place for 92 years. Following the death of his beloved wife, Rachel Price on Jan. 10, 2014, he lived with his daughter and son-in-law, Renee and James O'Donnell, in Oklahoma City. Floyd was a WWII veteran. Following his military duty, he came home and married Rachel Price on April 14, 1945, and farmed until the late 60s. One of the joys of his life was working with nature and being a good steward to the earth. He gardened and worked with bees and Bantam Chickens. He also custom hatched a variety of Bantams, quail, ducks, and several breed of poultry. He worked five years for Cotton Association delivering cotton samples to 40 gins and traveling 400 miles each night during ginning season. He also worked with Rachel in their drapery business for 35 years. He served on the Frenship ISD schoolboard during the 60s. Floyd was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Rachel L. Price; three sisters and three brothers, Cassie Price, Hazel Price, Bea Price, all of Lubbock, Everett Price of Llano, Texas, Melvin Price of Ralls, Texas, and Preston Price of Lubbock. Also deceased are two nieces, Jean Patton of Dallas, Texas, and Peggy Austin of Lubbock. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Renee and James O'Donnell of Oklahoma City, OK; as well as three nieces, Judy Alsup of Lubbock, Sue Thornton of Ralls, Texas, and Shirley Brockopp of Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadow Brook Acres, 13016 South Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, OK, 73190, a non-profit agency for individuals with developmental disabilities. Our family has been involved with this agency for over 25 years. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 25th, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26th, at Resthaven Memorial Park.
