Frankie A. Reynolds, 84, of Illiopolis, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Frankie was born on November 12, 1932 in Keensburg, IL the daughter of George and Helen Cummings Shepard. She married George Reynolds in 1947; he preceded her in death.

She worked as a cook for the Illiopolis School District. She was a member of Illiopolis Christian Church, Christian Women’s Fellowship, American Legion Auxiliary, the Illiopolis Kitchen Band and Illio-girls. She liked to crochet and play her teapot in the kitchen band. She enjoyed gardening and visiting with her grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn Porter; and great-grandson, Rodney Ginger Jr.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Reynolds of Carmi, Lon (Carol) Reynolds of Decatur and Donald Reynolds of Mt. Carmel; three brothers, George (Nellie) Shepard of Norris City, Roy (Thelma) Shepard of Carmi and Clyde “Ray” Shepard of Carmi; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Illiopolis Christian Church with Reverend Melissa Ebken officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
