Viola Native Dies In Galesburg, Rites Conducted Monday

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a. m. Monday for Louis J. Schneider, 54, of Galesburg, who died Friday, Aug. 22, 1958. Rev. A. Curran celebrated requiem Mass with response by the choir in Corpus Christi church.
Frank Mack of Moline, a cousin of the deceased was soloist. Louis was the son of Joseph and Mary Schaechter Schneider. He was born in 1904 near Viola. His wife was the former Avis Bridger also of Viola.
Burial was made in St. John's Catholic cemetery north of Viola with Rev. Meyers officiating at the graveside services.
Pallbearers were all nephews: John Leahigh Jr., of Milwaukee, Wis., Louis Mack Jr., Rock Island, James R. Mack, Moline, Thomas and Stanley Bridger of Chicago, and James English of Galesburg. A number of Viola relatives attended the services.
